All publicationsAction in Brussels ‘A Blood-Money Christmas Tree for Euroclear While Ukrainian Children Die’
Ukrainian and Belgian activists gathered in front of Euroclear’s headquarters in Brussels for a symbolic action, bringing a Christmas tree made of blood-covered banknotes to denounce the continued blocking of a reparations loan for Ukraine secured by frozen Russian state assets.
5 STEPS EVERYONE CAN TAKE TO HELP UNBLOCK THE REPARATIONS LOAN
On December 18, the European Council will take its final vote on the use of frozen Russian assets. This decision will determine whether Ukraine receives a reparations loan to secure funding for its defence for the next two years.
Russia fully understands that it is waging a war of attrition and is therefore throwing all its resources to derail this decision. Two years of stable funding would mean not only the ability to hold the line, but also the capacity for strategic planning for Ukraine’s Defence Forces. This is exactly the scenario that forces Moscow to desperately look for ways to prolong the war amid its so-called “slowing” economy, which is, in reality, a recession.
Only a strong Ukraine can bring lasting peace, while all of Russia’s “peace” statements, made amid daily shelling and the killing of civilians, are nothing more than a smokescreen.
